Children's Program
A Typical Daily Rhythm:
Breakfast
Fully free, fully child-led, play and exploration
Community gathering invitation
Lunch time
Quiet rest
Snack
Fully free, fully child-led, play and exploration
The specifics of our Daily Rhythm can change in response to the needs of the children. There is one thing that will always remain the same, with any group of children: our priority is to give the children as much time for uninterrupted free play as we possibly can. We are fully commited to the belief that the most meaningful learning happens when children are allowed to explore freely, while their teachers support and facilitate that exploration.
We go outside for long chunks of time every day, with the specific time frame varying based on the children’s current interests and chosen activities. Often, we spend our days with the door open and teachers in both spaces, allowing children to move freely between indoor and outdoor play. Both our indoor and outdoor play environments are designed to encourage deep engagement and learning through free play.
Infant, Baby, and Toddler Program
The daily rhythm is set by the children in our care, and is unique to each child's needs. Our days include:
periods of independent play with simple materials and attuned adults observing
periods of rest, set by carefully observing and following the sleepy and wakeful cues of each child
attentive caregiving, with children and caregivers working together, joyfully
mindful eating: from one on one bottle feeding, in a cozy chair with an attuned carer; to a small toddler-size table for eating table foods together with peers and caregiver
